We closed on this little beauty earlier this week. (Look here for a sneak-peek inside). Some people call it "flipping", but that is a term I don't use. Flipping would mean buying a house at a distressed price (which we do try to do), and then slapping a coat of paint on it, and then try to make a profit.
Sort of like slapping a coat of lipstick on a pig.
(This image is from our last renovation project).
Making a profit is truly only half the reason we do these projects. My dad and I simply love taking an old ugly house and making it something beautiful again. The money at the end is the icing on the cake. I'm not saying we would do it for free, but we truly don't do it just for the money.
Since we will soon be spending TONS of time on our new project, I thought I should get any blogging issues out of the way this week, before the craziness really starts. And I promise to document the whole thing much better than I did last time.
Anyway, as a result of messing with the blog, I caused a whole bunch more problems (like losing dozens of pictures).....
and I wasted a bunch of time (like changing my blog header three or four times, only to change it back to nearly what it was before).
The point is, over the next several weeks I will pretty much abandon the progress at my own home, so I thought I would snap a few pictures around the house.
Sometimes you have to look at things through different eyes.
Looking around the house for images of things I liked, ended up being a really healthy exercise. While seeking out the good, it made me stop seeing only the "bad" (at least for a few minutes).
I ended up feeling really grateful.
And gratitude is a good thing people!
Everything looks so good! I am excited to see the style for the new house.
